Corey Howard serves as Assistant Head Coach and Pitching Coach at Georgetown Prep. A Prep alumnus (2012–2014), Howard helped lead the Hoyas to the 2012 IAC Championship, delivering the decisive moment with a two-out, bases-loaded drive off the fence in the bottom of the fifth to break a 1–1 tie and secure the 4–1 victory. He earned All-Met Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore, All-Met Second Team as a junior, and All-Met First Team as a senior. Howard continued his career at Liberty University, ranked No. 19 in the preseason Division I polls, where he served as a left-handed specialist and posted a 0.00 ERA across 11 innings, including multiple appearances against Virginia. He later transferred to Gardner-Webb University, where he emerged as one of the Big South’s top hitters—batting .347 with 78 hits, finishing second in the entire conference in hits as a junior, ranking top five in doubles, and earning Big South First Team honors. As a senior, he hit .317, finished top 12 in hits and doubles, and earned Big South Second Team recognition.

Tanner Sampson is a former Division I infielder and outfielder with a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the game. An All-Met Selection during his time at Georgetown Prep, Tanner went on to play at Mount St. Mary’s University. Tanner now channels that passion into teaching and mentoring young athletes across Montgomery County. Tanner faced a significant injury early in his career, however, that experience gave him a deep understanding of arm health, the rehabilitation process, and what it takes to return stronger. He emphasizes the importance of training to improve athleticism, developing the ability to play multiple positions, and helping players become versatile, valuable contributors to their programs. With a sharp eye for detail and a focus on fundamentals, he helps players refine their skills, build confidence, and develop a strong baseball IQ. Tanner’s mission is to create a high-energy, competitive, and supportive environment where players can grow on and off the field.
