Meet the Coaches

Corey Howard, Co-founder and Lead Instructor

  • Coach Howard is the Varsity Pitching Coach at Georgetown Prep. A prep alumnus '14, he earned All-Met honors in each of his three varsity seasons, including First Team recognition as a senior and won three IAC Championships. As a Division 1 hitter at Gardner-Webb University, he was one of the Big South Conference's top hitters. Howard earned Big South First team honors as a junior after batting .347 with 78 hits, followed by Big South Second Team recognition as a senior, and was a multiple-time Big South Player of the Week selection during his career.

    Professionally, Howard pitched in the Empire League, posting a 0.00 ERA in 15.2 innings before earning a contract with the Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League. He returned to Georgetown Prep for the 2024-2025 season and has led the Hoyas' pitching staff to two IAC Championships.

Tanner Sampson, Co-founder and Lead Instructor

  • Tanner Sampson is a former Division I infielder and outfielder with a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the game. An All-Met Selection during his time at Georgetown Prep, Tanner went on to play at Mount St. Mary’s University. Tanner now channels that passion into teaching and mentoring young athletes across Montgomery County. Tanner faced a significant injury early in his career, however, that experience gave him a deep understanding of arm health, the rehabilitation process, and what it takes to return stronger. He emphasizes the importance of training to improve athleticism, developing the ability to play multiple positions, and helping players become versatile, valuable contributors to their programs. With a sharp eye for detail and a focus on fundamentals, he helps players refine their skills, build confidence, and develop a strong baseball IQ. Tanner’s mission is to create a high-energy, competitive, and supportive environment where players can grow on and off the field.

    Our 1-on-1 private baseball lessons are 60 minute sessions tailored to each athlete’s skill level, position, and goals. Whether you're working on hitting, fielding, pitching, or overall athletic development, each session is focused, high-energy, and designed to build real results. Coach Corey and Tanner provide personalized instruction, advanced technique work, and mental game insights to help players elevate their game.

    Our small group sessions are 60 minute sessions that focus on building core baseball fundamentals in a competitive, team-like environment. Players work on hitting, fielding, base running, and position-specific drills—while also learning game IQ and developing discipline. Our group training balances skill development with high energy and personal attention, ensuring every player improves and stays motivated.

  • Advanced Training & Mentorship Program

    Built for dedicated athletes aiming to compete at the highest level, this program combines elite training with personalized mentorship. Each week includes a 60-minute one-on-one training session focused on refining skills, as well as a Zoom mentorship call diving into the mental side of the game—covering preparation, mindset, leadership, and what it truly takes to play Division 1 or professionally.

    Athletes will also hear directly from guest speakers who have played at the college and pro levels, offering first-hand insight and inspiration to guide them on their journey.
